BWD celebrates its 37th founding anniversary
37 years ago, the Bato Water District wasformed. Following its formation, the Water District acquired the ownership and management of the entire system from the NAWASA (now MWSS) that used to manage the water utility since its construction in 1956 by virtue of Sanguniang Bayan Resolution no. 69 s. 1979. The transfer of ownership was in accordance with PD 198 as amended commonly known as the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973. LWUA awarded Conditional Certificate of Conformance No. 101on November 7, 1979 to BWD after it had complied with LWUA's minimum requirements for the certification program. Mr. Armageddon G. Buebos was then the General Manager. At present, the District is under the Managerial supervison of a lady Manager Mrs. Amelia T. Bongalos, a CPA by profession.
Simple & significant celebration started with a Holy Mass at 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon officiated by Rev. Fr. Salvador T. Rojas Jr. which were attended by the Members of the Board, Officers and Employees, friends and concessionaires of the Bato Water District. Dinner was served after the Mass.
March 15, 2016 was not only the commemoration the BWDs founding anniversary but also an occasion of acknowledging employees' contribution to the agency. Thus, a send-off program for the retirement in government service of Mrs. Alma T. Barba, Cashier was given due recognition. Exquisite plaque of Recognition for her 36-year service was awarded to her.
